Established in 2007 Alston Coaches has grown to become one of Melbourne's leading coach operators with its distinctive fleet of predominantly Irizar i6 metallic grey coaches like 2 (BS03VN). The coach, later renumbered 101, a Mercedes O500RF, was on a Metro Trains Christmas rail replacement service in January 2019 outside the National Gallery of Victoria.

On the same rail work was Higer Road Boss, seen at Windsor on the Dandenong Road with the Astor Cinema on Chapel Street behind. It was one of a four acquired from Queensland, and the only one surviving in 2026. Here it is 5 (BS01OB), now numbered 203. It was new in 2011 with rego 226SBM.

Seen nearby just before was sister 7 (BS00EM), now withdrawn, but not before being renumbered 202. It was new in 2012 with rego 223SBM.

This unidentified Road Boss was seen in December that year at Albert Park.

Seen in July 2021 was the Mercedes at the top of the page renumbered 101.

Sister vehicle, 1 (BS04HW) was seen in Richmond in December 2022. It was the only coach to retain a single digit fleet number.

Working with 1 was unnumbered year old Mercedes OH1836 BS05WQ, both working on behaf of Red Bull, though neither had wings!

A secondhand acquisition was this i6 bodied OH1830, 105 (BS04MQ) seen outside St Kilda's Palais Theatre in April 2023 with another Alston Irizar behind and a Ventura coach beyond that. The coach had been new to Greyhound as 224 in 2015 working in SA with rego SB94KO and WA as 1GBA567.

On charter to Lamborghini for the Melbourne Grand Prix in Canterbury Road alongside the Albert Park track in March 2025, an Irizar i6s bodied Volvo B8R new in 2024, unnumbered BS10ZV. With Mercedes withdrawing from the Australian market Alston has switched to Volvo for chassis.

On St Kilda's Marine Parade in November 2025 with the Palais Theatre just visible was four year old unnumbered BS05WQ an i6s bodied Mercedes OH1836.

A depot visit that December saw a rank of smart Irizars. From left to right we have another Volvo B8R, BS08VL, followed by four Mercedes O500RF coaches 103 (BS05RB) of 2018, 101 again, 100 (BS03VO) of 2017 and previously numbered 1 and 107 (BS04RF) of 2018.

The fleet contains the inevitable midi and mini sized buses, a few Toyota HiAces, and around ten Fuso Rosas. This Rosa, 300 (8996AO), is ready to park up. New in 2009, but acquired, like all of them, it was acquired secondhand. In 2024 a solitary Mercedes Sprinter was puchased new.

With its rear end facing us is O500RF 102 (BS04WN), formerly 3, whilst sister 105 one of the trio of Mercedes OH1830 acquired from Greyhound was receiving attention at "Door 1".

Acquired from Australia Wide Coaches was this tri-axle Irizar i6s bodied Scania K480EB, BS06ZO. It was joined by a new K360IB in 2019, possibly as part of a quest as to what to replace Mercedes. This Scania was new in 2014 as 123 (TV7865) and christened "Lookin' Mighty Fine".
