EXCLUSIVE FIRST EDITIONS Eastern Counties Focus

Eastern Counties Omnibus Company Limited was registered on the 14 July 1931 and was an amalgamation of four companies who covered the areas of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, the Isle of Ely and the Soke of Peterborough. Under Tilling management the fleet grew strongly, incorporating many standardised features, being an enthusiastic user of Bristol chassis for the majority of its vehicles, common on the Tilling group. Surviving through Nationalisation, the Eastern Counties fleet name now prospers under the ownership of FirstBus.

13905 Bristol Lodekka FLF
Lodekka Painted in the familiar red livery of NBC, this Lodekka can be seen on route 509 to Bowthorpe. With adverts promoting cheap season tickets and bus hire, this vehicle is a fine example of an NBC vehicle from the early days of the company.

A popular workhorse for the Eastern Counties fleet under Tilling control, this Bristol LS, fleet number LM923, is seen in the common red and cream livery on route 90 to Thorpe Station.

16207 Bristol MW Coach
In reverse livery used for the coaching fleet, the attractive MW style bodywork on this Bristol chassis makes a pleasing partner for the previous Bristol vehicles. Fleet number LS790, is shown on the common duty of an excursion.

20105 Bedford OB
A slightly older design of livery can be seen on this classic vehicle with the inclusion of a black chassis in addition to the familiar red and cream. KAH 951 fleet number BS951. is on excursion duties.

20408 Bristol VR Series III
With the advent of De-Regulation came a host of new liveries for many companies, Eastern Counties being no exception. Here, VEX 294X can be seen as it run when FirstBus first acquired the company, running on route X74. VR294 carries adverts for Surf washing powder, Churchill Insurance and a local furnishers.

18502 Bristol VRII Open Top EASTERN COUNTIES.
Eastern Counties' models have always had a huge following and this VR promises to be and is seen no exception. In the predominantly cream livery, JNG 50N, fleet number OT 353 is on route F4 to the Felixstowe Ferry. We urge collectors to place an early order as demand will be high for this model.

24809 Mercedes Minibus EASTERN COUNTIES.
Transferred from Thamesway and now decorated in the established livery of Eastern Counties this minibus makes a great addition to our fleet. Registered H354 UN, fleet number 875 is on route 25 to University via Unthank Road.

27503 Wrights Scania Axcess PARK & RIDE EASTERN COUNTIES.
This version of our Scania Axcess features Eastern Counties fleet number 551, registered R551 CNG branded for the Park & Ride service 506 to Postwick.

29405 Bristol RELH DP Coach EASTERN COUNTIES NBC.
It has been a long time since NBC liveries were featured on our models so this will please NBC enthusiasts. Registered GCL 344N, fleet number RLE742 is working route 851 to lpswich.

24814 Mercedes Minibus FIRST EASTERN COUNTIES.
This pretty Eastern Counties minibus in First's corporate livery has been customised to operate a service via the James Paget Hospital. Fleet number 900, registered J615 UTW, is on Route 607 to Belton.

32302 Bristol RELH Coach EASTERN COUNTIES.
The second release of this version of our Bristol RELH casting shows fleet number RE 880 when first in service in the cream and maroon coach livery of Eastern Counties. Registration number GNG 92C operates route E to Norwich.

29613 Leyland Olympian EASTERN COUNTIES.
The cheerful orange and cream livery of Eastern Counties brightened the roads of East Anglia for many years. Our Leyland Olympian registered H103 KVX and renumbered 111 in the fleet is working route 17 to Sprowston.
