FUTURE MODEL RELEASES

EFE announced a new modern vehicle casting at SHOWBUS 2006 and gave the details in 2007 of the new East Lancs Olympus double and singledeckers. Now the uncertainties at East Lancs/Optare are resolved, commissioning of the model will press ahead, now branded the Optare Olympus.

For Sinsheim a model of London Transport Country area RML2306 (CUV306C) was produced with blinds set for Sinsheim.

London Transport Leyland Fleetline B20 DM2577 - the 2008 SHOWBUS model.

Announced at SHOWBUS 2008 was a new casting of the BET body of the sixties, seen here as a Willowbrook bodied AEC Reliance, Green Line RC6. The casting will have both 4 and 6 bay variants.

Making a come back in the EFE production plans is the Dennis Dart SLF. Some years back this was planned using the casting for the New World First Bus Dart, but these plans fell through. The new Dart will be in single and dual door form to 10.7m length.

A 1/24th scale model of the RF was announced at SHOWBUS 2007,
the patterns were shown at SHOWBUS 2008.

Other Model News

Routemaster RM5 RM5 is the lowest numbered standard production Routemaster and during the Autumn and Winter the bus has been completely dismantled and painstakingly restored by enthusiastic and dedicated engineers in the Arriva workshops.

We have made changes to our mould tooling to capture the earlier design of the first production Routemasters and the revised models will be released for sale at a special event to be held at the London Transport Museum, Covent Garden on the 9th and 10th May. At this special event RM5 will be on show in the piazza and in the museum will be a display showing the various stages of the restoration work and the two special models will be available at the museum shop.

One version of the model numbered 36501 features RM5 registered VLT5, in service working on route 8B to Old Ford, the other version numbered 36501A shows RM5 as part of the Arriva Heritage Fleet displaying Heritage Fleet blinds.

The beautifully restored bus will have its first official public viewing as it takes part in the historic London to Brighton commercial vehicle run, which took place over the first May Bank Holiday weekend.
