Buses on the Net - October 2000

Has Stagecoach’s web presence improved in the past year? Richard Delahoy investigates . . .

With the feature on Stagecoach elsewhere in this issue, it’s timely to revisit how this major group is using the web to communicate with actual and potential passengers. Since my last review in the May 1999 issue, more companies have gone on line and others have improved.

To read more, see my column in the October issue of Buses.

Buses on the Net - September 2000

Does London Transport’s new site live up to expectations? Richard Delahoy investigates . . .

Transport for London (TfL) were quick off the mark with a comprehensive revamp of the www.londontransport.co.uk site, to reflect the wider responsibilities that the new body has for planning London’s transport. But is the update better than the old site, reviewed last October?

Buses on the Net - August 2000 issue

Planning to visit a rally or museum this summer?
Richard Delahoy discovers how the ’net can help . . .

Summer means days out, visiting rallies, running days and museums. This year, the traditional Buses Rally Calendar has been joined by the new book Buses Restored, so how can the internet help? One of the advantages of the ’net is its immediacy, so that updated information can be made available instantly. This can include changes to opening hours, details of special events, even lists of vehicles entered for rallies. A number of museums also offer a virtual tour, showing what’s on offer and helping you to plan your visit.

To see the full story, read my column in Buses magazine this month. To visit the featured sites, simply click on the links below:
