First's Thornbury and Yate routes were rebranded in March 2018 as "South Glos Lynx". Seen in Bristol City Centre awaiting departure on the Y1 to Yate in August 2019 was Alexander Dennis Enviro400MMC bodied Scania N250UD 36817 (WX57HKL). The following year a fleet of yellow gas powered Scanias with Enviro400CNGCITY bodywork displaced the temporarily badged buses from the Lynx network.

Forward to July 2025 and the gas powered Scania N280UD deckers were much in evidence in Bristol city. Having just arrived on a Y1 39458 (YN20CCU) passes Stagecoach West 36932 (SN63MYF) an Alexander Dennis Enviro200 on the 25 to Fishponds. Having acquired independent South Gloucestershire north of the city, Stagecoach was muscling into Bristol and beyond on tendered services.
