The Kalsten Express Opel Blitz.

The oldest vehicle participating in the event was this 1923 International Harvester. The bus was originally in the United Kingdom and used by Johnston's Motor Transport on the London-Brighton service. The service has a first class option on the padded longitudinal bench. Second class passengers faced the first class passengers from their bare wooden bench. Before restoration by Roland Gross in southern Germany, the bus ended its days as a kebab van.

Leaping forward to 1987 is this Mercedes O307 still belonging to BRN Busverkehr Rhein-Neckar GmbH who have restored the bus to its original condition. It is typical of nearly 2000 similar buses operated by German Railways.
