Konrad Auwaerter kindly invited the SHOWBUS team to the first Pan European Bus Rally to be staged at Speyer from April 22nd to 25th in 2004. We were able to attend for the last two days. The 100 vehicles were on display at the Technik Museum in Speyer in southern Germany. The Museum displays many of its aircraft in take off mode, like the Lufthansa 747 in the background. From Konrad's Auwaerter Museum near Stuttgart (under the Neoplan factory) is this NH6/7 of 1958, neatly hiding the gantry access to the jumbo.

The above picture was taken early on Saturday morning, before the entries made their way to Sinsheim - about half an hour away. The same coach is seen on Saturday afternoon having returned to the Speyer display area.

Swiss Saurer L4C
Early morning condensation fogs the windscreens of this impressive line up of Saurers and Mercedes. The first two vehicles are 1951 Swiss Saurer L4Cs.

From the NZH Vervoer Museum at Haarlem in Holland came this unusual Van Hool bodied DAF MB200 which had been modified into a semi-banana boat.
