In 2008 a CBD downtown shuttle was started up. This is a free service and has proved very popular. Around half a dozen 2004 Volvo B12BLEs were wrapped in green vinyls for the service. 1509 is seen with another of the batch loading at Circular Quay over Christmas 2008 on the anticlockwise loop to Central Station.

For Christmas 2009 the CBD Shuttles were decorated appropriately. 1509 again is seen this time on the clockwise shuttle loading at Circular Quay. The buses ran every day over the Christmas and New year with the service extended for late shopping. However there did seem to be lack of supervision with three buses spotted nose to tail at Central Station on New Year's Day around midday.
