On layover just outside the town in Cairns is this typical Whitecars vehicle used on their network of
regional bus services in the Atherton Tablelands. The Whitecars
website is highly recommended,
not only are timetables provided, but an excellent illustrated history of the undertaking.

These small Japanese vehicles are very popular in Australia, and most 'big' fleets have a number of such
vehicles. Back in the UK there place would probably be taken by Mercedes, though the more closely related
Toyota/Caetano combo. Whitecars 34 is seen on a private hire, laying over in Cairns.
