61135 (YS51JVA) was new to First in Yorkshire as S001. It was one of the first American built Bluebird AAREs brought to Britain by First to pioneer the American school bus concept in the UK. The bus is branded First Student, the identity used by First on its vast fleet of school buses used in the US and Canada.

The fleet of assembled schoolbuses included some BMC 1100s and vehicles from First Hants & Dorset as well as First Berkshire. A huge inter school tounrament on a summer Saturday required buses to convey students from locations all over Buckinghamshire.
