S308 (CBL357B) was numerically the last of a trio of 1964 Bristol RELL6Gs.
The bus is seen when hewly delivered in Reading depot. It may never have reached
Windsor, the trio settling to work on the 5 service from Reading to Oxford. No
more RE buses joined the fleet for some years leaving this graceful ECW design
distinctive within the fleet.

The next RE buses were of the short RESL type. Most of the batch of 8 were
concentrated at Bracknell, but their introduction on one man town services was
a protracted affair, running in to much union opposition. The original vision
for their use was the reason for the unique to Thames Valley dual door
arrangement. S337 (LJB337F) is seen at Newbury.

S332 (LJB332F) was allocated to Maidenhead with S331. It is seen at Bridge
Street Bus Station in the company of a Bristol LS, making a stark contrast.

Side by side in Reading depot are contrasting Bristol REs with the newly delivered example on the right and the original looking rather the worse for wear withouts its grill in place.
