Probably the biggest Megabuses to date were the articulated Scottish sleeper coaches. Jonckheere Modulo bodied Volvo B10MA 51096 with the registration off London Routemaster RM921, WLT921 is seen inthe arrivals hall at Victoria Coach Station in May 2013 after its overnight journey south. A few weeks later it was displaced from duties by the fleet of new Van Hool Megabus Gold doubledeckers, so successful had the artics been in launching the sleeper service, the Gold upgrade became possible. Up until then the artic coaches had been a bit of a white elephant: shortly after their acquisition a change in legislation undermined their effective use on long distance motorway coach services. The gentle overnight service to Glasgow or Edinburgh was perfect for them.

Passengers disgorged and 51096 heads off to layover doubtless until the return journey north the following evening.

New to Yorkshire Traction for National Express work as 66 (Y966PHL), now 52526 is seen ending its days on training duties in Leamington Spa in May 2013. The Plaxton Panther bodied Volvo B10M is probably based at Rugby depot which is something of a centre for Megabus operations.

Another former Yorkshire Traction Volvo/Plaxton Panther is 53030 (YU04YAG), formerly 70. It is operating a journey probably from Cheltenham to London via the M4. However, weight restrictions on the elevated section at the London end of the motorway meant a diversion via the A404 to the M40 on which 53030 is seen at Bisham just before the Olympic Torch relay was due to arrive at Bisham Abbey sports centre, then training home of the England Football team.

New to Rapsons in the Highlands and Islands, this Jonckheere bodied Volvo B12M, 52677 (FN04JZR), is seen on layover on Elizabeth Bridge, Victoria in April 2011. Quite where home was then to the coach is not known, it has been seen on Megabus workings as far apart as Cardiff and Newcastle.
