Routemasters have always been something of a favourite
with Stagecoach Chairman, Brian Souter, so it came as no real surprise when early acquisition,
United Counties, acquired a fleet to run in Bedford and Corby. They were first seen in the post deregulation
green, with orange relief, but by the time Stagecoach stripes were more universally in use, the
Routemaster fleet faded away. United Counties 703 (HVS937) is in splendid condition at Showbus 97
and still sees occasional use.

338 route in central Oxford, bearing Street Shuttle fleetnames, which like United Counties other brand
name - Coachlinks - has yet to succomb to the all conquering Stagecoach.

Birmingham's Bull Ring Bus & Coach Station on the X64 is a modern Plaxton Interurban coach

'Coachlinks' brand, rather than the increasingly common place 'Stagecoach Express'.
