SHOWBUS is moving for 2013

Our new venue is in Shakespeare's countryside at Long Marston Airfield, just south of Stratford-upon-Avon, home to a variety of well known motoring shows and displays including the national Hot Rod drag racing championship.
The new venue is - at the moment - just for 2013 and Showbus will be back at Duxford on September 21st 2014 for the 60th anniversary of the Routemaster.
We are hopeful that the new central venue will give the opportunity for people who have found it difficult to get to Duxford to come and see and to join in and enjoy the spectacle of the biggest bus event in the country, if not the world.
Tiered seating to view the SHOWBUS 2013 arrivals Whilst the venue does not have the attendant attractions of Europe's premier air museum it does enable us to offer attractions that the Museum does not permit.
  • tiered seating to view the arrivals.
  • reduced admission.
  • a wider range of stalls and refreshments will be permitted than at Duxford
  • coach operators will be able to combine a visit to Showbus with Warwick Castle and Stratford day trips
  • entrants will be able to camp overnight on site where there are toilet and shower facilities
  • dogs will be allowed on site
  • there will be a mini-SHOWBUS the weekend before at the as a curtain raiser to the main event at the National Hot Rod championships.
  • Special Midland displays will celebrate 150 years of Metro-Cammell, 90 years since Midland Red started building their own buses with the BMMO SOS, 80 years since the first Guy Arab appeared, 60 years since Guy built London's GS class and 35th birthday of the MCW Metrobus. It is also the 40th anniversary of the Volvo Ailsa, a significant number of which served West Midlands PTE, and it's the centenary of the Birmingham motor bus, City of Oxford Motors, Trent and United Counties. With some of the first Dennis Darts being bodied by Carlyle in the Midlands we will also be celebrating the Dart's 25th birthday with a repeat of our 1999 Dartline.
True Identity DJ Leo

International composer and musician DJ Leo of True Identity will be entertaining us during the afternoon

With support for his productions from the international dj community, including Sebastian Ingrosso, the Swedish House Maffia and Pete Tong we are in for a treat. You can hear his music on Soundcloud
Those of you at SHOWBUS 2006 may remember the music Leo composed for the ftr's performance on the airfield SHOWBUS 2013 Showbus is an event that has, and always will be, run for enthusiasts by enthusiasts. We aim to stage an event that is unrivalled and hope that the new venue will offer our visitors better value for money as well as a new range of displays and attractions. We always like to hear from visitors to Showbus, and entrants too, and we would welcome suggestions as to what attractions you would like to see at the 2013 event which might now be possible.
