Driver Bus Lines MCA Classic II 6 & Denning low floor 89
Seen together at the Melbourne Cup in 2011 are MCA Classic II 6 (1006AO) and low floor Denning 89 (8089AO). The MCA was, at the time, one of the few coaches in Driver livery, most of their coaches being branded for Gray Line, but change was in the air. In October the previous year Driver acquired Mawson's Coaches, Old Tyabb Coaches, Balnarring Bus Lines and Coolart Bus & Coach with a total of 29 buses and 20 school contracts all coming together under a new Driver Coastal brand and based on the Mornington Peninsula. The sale of the bus operations in June 2013 took both of these pictured vehicles off to purchaser CDC Victoria and the replacement of the lost bus work with extra school contracts and charter operations all of which saw the number of coaches in Driver colours increase significantly.
