The Neighbours bus stop
Neighbours is not without its transport interest - not just the Bunyip Tours minibus fleet. On the backlots back in 2007 is the local Neighbours bus shelter made entirely of wood and scene of many a cast member attempting to depart from Erinsborough - and often intercepted before they do! Occasionally a member of the Crown Coaches fleet is used as the local fictional bus. This backlot has been home to other Neighbours landmarks like Grease Mokeys cafe, just along from the stop and across the road Carpenters Cars, Dial-A-Kyle, Fitzgerald Motors aka Carpenters Mechanics.

With Grease Monkeys behind - it is simply a facade - is the bus stop flag for fictional routes 10 and 12.

The Neighbours bus stop
The advent of HD and the influx of greater funding following the successful sale of the series in the UK to Channel 5 meant a makeover for all the Neighbours sets, inside and out. A convincing bus shelter, not made of wood replaced the previous structure.

The Neighbours bus stop
Unlike its predecessor this stop boasts a timetable and closer examination will show the display is for Melbourne Bus Link route 219 from Brighton to Sunshine Park, though the header has been altered to declare stop 138 as Erinsborough, Power Rd. The photograph has featured in the "Millar's Tales" column of BUSES magazine.

The Neighbours school bus stop
A visit to the backlots in April 2016 found this addition, a 415 school bus stop. It is of interest on two counts: firstly the bus pictogram is British and possibly not seen in Australia, none of the states use it in their individual signage; secondly the sign has yet to feature in an episode of the series!
