The need for the shorter VSTM model is apparent here on the other side of Tamarama Beach, narrower may have been useful too!

In this January 2020 view at Waverley depot 2692 (2692ST) and 2691 (2691ST) are parked by the main gate on Oxford Road. This has now been closed and buses have to use the side entrance on York Road, which is somewhat ludicrously controlled by traffic lights, which offer no bus priority. Perhaps it is the reason why Wavereley received the first electric buses`as a lot of diesel will be wasted getting in and out of the depot!

Approaching the depot in March 2019 is 2683 (2683ST) running light. Again the network overall wastes enormous amounts of diesel, not to mention wear and tear on buses running light - and the cost of driver's wages - to take up duties. Buses are frequently seen running light to and from Bronte Beach, rather than running in service and changing crews at Bondi Junction. Similar observations can be seen with buses from Brookvale running light to Manly Wharf to take over services which run back past Brookvale depot! These are probably not isolated occurences.
