 Most years there are trams in special liveries for the Australian Open tennis tournament in January. Several other advert trams appear linked to the Open and sponsors of the event or the racing teams. Class A tram 281 is seen promoting the Open in January 2013. |
 In November before the 2015 Open, Class A 281 was heading down Flinders Street in the latest Open wrap.

 Combino 3537 seen earlier in November on St Kilda Road sported the same ad. The wording in white on the cantrail invites visitors to use the free tram service that shuttles between Melbourne Park and the city.
