Cedar Coaches Dennis Dragon Duple Metsec G652FVX
Contrasting again, but this time in terms of capacity, is G652FVX, a 1989 Dennis Dragon with Duple Metsec bodywork also at the 2002 SHOWBUS. The bus was new to China Motor Bus as DL44 (EJ2261) and later passed to Yorkshire school bus specialist MASS Brightbus in lime green livery. Cedar Coaches always had large capacity doubledeckers in its fleet for school work, but ex Hong Kong triaxle doubledecks provide the ultimate in capacity for school contract work. The yellow livery reflects its school role.

Edinburgh Corporation Leyland Olympian ECW 1
Edinburgh's long wheel base Leyland Olympians proved popular secondhand purchases on the school bus circuit. Former 707 (A707YFS) is seen at SHOWBUS international 2001 in the recent care of Cedars of Bedford, where it appears to have acquired fleet number 1.

Edinburgh Corporation Leyland Olympian ECW 1
The Olympian appeared again in 2002 where it joined the line up of Scottish vehicles.

Cedar & Eastbourne Lions
One or two people may have been wondering what Cedar Coaches ex-Nottingham decker was doing parked up with two Eastbourne buses: the vintage Leyland Lion and an Ikarus bodied DAF coach. Ever mindful of photo opportunities, the late entry of the Cedar exhibit enabled us to pull off Leyland Lions from different generations to pose side by side. Cedars Alexander bodied Leyland Lion underfloor engined doubledecker was new as Nottingham 396 (E941CDS) and later passed to Chester as their 18. It became another number 1 in Cedar's fleet, where it unfortunately lost its roof in a lowbridge accident, which probably terminated its life.

Cedar & Eastbourne Lions
The beautifully preserved Lion won the Doyen singledeck award at SHOWBUS.
