Trent's Leyland Nationals led to Trent's Optare Deltas and the Optare experience doubtless led to Konect choosing Optares for its first new vehicles. Solo VX51RHZ is branded the Dereham Nipper for service in the company's home town, it is seen at SHOWBUS in 2002.

The Delta connection may be apparent here. The Opate Delta is based on DAF's SB220 chassis and Konect's first deckers were these Wright Pulsar Gemini DAF DB250LFs. They were the first DAF/Wright deckers outside London. A batch was purchased in dedicated livery for Norwich Park & Ride, but just one spare bus was ordered in flett livery. It is seen at SHOWBUS 2005 in the company of two other Wright singldeckers for Reading and Lincolnshire Road Car.
