Aboard NABI BRT-60 9218 on Saturday October 29th 2005, the first day of operation of Los Angeles' first busway: the Orange Line. Services started at 6.00am and for the first two days travel was free. The 14 mile dedicated road features purpose built stations, park & ride facilities, a parallel cycle way, traffic light priority and GPS technology to provide real time information.
Orange Line

The vehicles used on the service are the launch batch of NABI 60-BRT, the BRT standing for Bus Rapid Transit and 60 relates to their length in feet. These two vehicles are at the western end of the route having just come off the dedicated bus way and taken to conventional roads.
Orange Line

Metro 9223 loads at the North Hollywood station at the eastern end of the line. The North Hollywood Station links to Metro's lightrail Red Line, the subway to downtown.
Orange Line

The buses from North Hollywood enter directly on to the dedicated busway.
