This picture is thought to date from 1989 when the Los Angeles MTA was known at the "RTD"
- Southern California Rapid Transit District.
The multidirectional arrow logo on the dash was the trademark used before the various versions
of "M" for Metro took over. General Motors RTS 8526 is about to pick up the
photographer for a ride on the 7 to Eagle Park Plaza.

The impressive "25" logo on the front of RTS 8796, which can be seen in better detail on the
enlarged quality picture obtained by clicking on the photo, celebrates the 25th anniversary
of the RTD in 1989. The bus behind is Neoplan Suburban AN440/3 1186, new in 1987. Both buses
have now been retired from service.

2134 in Santa Monica is another in old colours, but this time a TMC built RTS T80-206 dating
from 1988. TMC, a subsidiary of Greyhound, bought GM's bus building operations in 1987 and
moved production from Pontiac, Michigan to their plant in spooky Rossville.
