TheBus TMC RTS 264
This rear view of sister 264 (BUS264) shows some of the roadwork chaos that was causing added congestion at peak times in Waikiki in summer 2004. The local authority was embarking on major sidewalk refurbishment which meant temporarily, at least, relocating several mature palm trees. As these were trundled around on huge artic trucks, so the chaos peaked!

Short Gillig Phantom 45 - TheBus Oahu
This short Gillig Phantom has the perfect Waikiki Beach backdrop. It is seen in August 2004 - TheBus 45 (BUS045) is one of a batch of ten 30ft Gilligs (40-49) new in 1998. All were donated to Hele-On on the Island of Hawaii in 2020 due to a bus shortage. Solved with short buses!

Gillig Phantom 617 - TheBus Waikiki
Same place, same day, but a standard length Gillig Phantom from the 59 new in 1994: TheBus 617 (BUS617).

Gillig Phantom 662 - TheBus Ala Moana
Sister vehicle 662 (BUS662) arrived in 1995. Unusually the batch continued on from the 1994 delivery starting at 660. When deliveries reached 699 the rest were numbered 740-773, skipping a number of pre-existing fleet members numbered in the 700 range. A final twenty two delivered in 1996 continued numbers up to 795. Bus 662 is seen approaching the Ala Moana Shopping Center, affording a nearside view of the model.

Short Gillig Phantom 757 - TheBus North Shore
Here is 1995 TheBus 757 (BUS757) seen near the North Shore. It is on a major route which takes nearly 3 hours to complete in a big loop around half the island, affording some spectacular views both in land and out to sea. Here it is pausing at Kailua(?) the half way point.
