That first Excel 901, again, seen here in the December 1999 snows at Handy Cross, near High Wycombe
on the 328 service from Reading.

The 328/329 routes were normally the preserve of Reading's Vectras and Deltas,
alongside Wycombe Bus Lynxes. With more Excel deliveries to Reading, some of the
earlier models appeared on the odd occasion on the 328.

Excels dominate Reading with three here parading through the town centre.

 Excel 947 (R202DKG) is one of several bought surplus from Cardiff Bus which has standardised on Dennis Darts. Most of the batch have shipped on to Eastboune in exchange for doubledeck Spectras. Reading requiring more deckers for Park & Ride and Night services supported by the Borough. |

 954 (R209DKG), another Cardiff Excel, approaches the outskirts of High Wycombe on the service that used to be Thames Valley, then Alder valley, then Bee Line, then joint Reading Buses and Bee Line, then joint Reading Buses and Wycombe Bus, then joint Reading Bus and Arriva and now wholly Arriva! |
