Less than two months after featuring at EFE SHOWBUS International 2007, the oldest bus in the Red Rose fleet was reduced to ruins in a fire in the yard in the early hours of November 3rd.

Initially thought repairable is another SHOWBUS entrant, RR02BUS, which was used extensively to promote SHOWBUS when new in 2002 in special gold and red livery to celebrate Her Majesty's Golden Jubilee. Having been repainted in a special orange livery to promote Hertfordshire's Sunday Chilern Rambler service, the bus retained its interior pictures celebrating the Monarch's reign. Clearly these images were damaged in the fire. RR02BUS was the fifth bus in line of fire and had its side windows smashed by the fire brigade. It was driven clear of the inferno by part owner, Chris Day.
