This is an unidentified doubledecker which may have been used on Red Rover's services in London in the days before regulation in the late 1920s. The picture is probably of the bus when new. |

A bus probably bought new for the Aylesbury services developed in the 1930s. This is a Dennis with blinds set for the Buckingham route. |

Red Rover has a long history of acquiring new buses, right through to its end. There were also lots of secondhand acquisitions and this one escaped before the fleet was renumbered in 1977. It is an AEC Regent V, believed to have come from South Wales Transport. It is parked in the Bicester Road yard.

An unusual - and largely unsuccessful - secondhand acquisition was GWX840J, an all Seddon Pennine IV with dual purpose seating. It originated with Edwards of Liverpool.

The archive starts with a Harrington bodied AEC Reliance, so we end with one too, 83VPP, like 1234PP, a 41 seater but is a Cavalier. 1234PP was the Grenadier model. |
