 Eighteen months earlier, a pair of Chinese BYD K9E electric buses preceded the Irizars on teh old Red Arrow routes. Seen at Victoria Station the same day as the Irizar is EB1 (LC63CYA).

 In 2016 things started to move apace with a substantial order for BYD electric buses, now built in partnership with Alexander Dennis who adapted the Enviro200MMC body to produce an attractive elctric bus. This is SEe9 (LJ16NNP) seen on the 521 on Drake Street in Holborn.

 On the same day in October SEe7 (LJ16NNM) is also on the 521 entering Southampton Row.

 BYD SEe10 (LJ16NNR) made great show of its green credentials, going much further than the sprinkling of green leaves seen on the early hybrid buses. The Enviro200EV badge can just about be made out on the rear the bus seen in Theolbold Street.
