In 1966 FRM1 (KGY4D) took to the streets of London as the potential successor to the Routemaster. Its designation suggested its design brief as a forward entrance Routemaster. The project never proceeded and LT went on to buy 'off the peg' buses - initially the Daimler Fleetline (type DMS).

FRM1 appeared at the 1975 Hillingdon Showbus rally sponsored by National Travel. These two views show the bus on the Windsor Road Run, at Datchet on the left and passing beneath the castle on the right.
