1980 saw Showbus staged at the new Thorpe Park near Staines. A special feature celebrated the DMS revival as hoards of rejected London vehicles found grateful new owners the length of the country. Nearest the camera is Hedingham's DMS. Next is a mobile exhibition unit for Ciba-Geigy Agricultural. Two Oxford DMS follow, the second in Park & Ride livery. One of the two London DMS is actually owned by Ensignbus, who dealt with all the DMS sales. Other examples in the line up include buses from Derby, Charlton-on-Otmoor Services and famous DMS user, Stevnsons of Uttoxeter. |
