After a career with London Transport and its successors, then MTL and Metroline, RML2561 was withdrawn in 2004 and passed through the hands of Blue Triangle and Ensignbus before ending up with a private buyer in Wokingham around 2005. In 2011 it surfaced, or at least tried to, in the M&M store in Leicester Square, minus its roof.

As can be seen it was not only the roof it lost, but also its lower middle section which provided an entrance way to the sweet store. A tasty conversion?

Finishing its London career in 2004 with London United, RML2729 was exported to Southern Ireland fro service as an open top tour bus with Dualway of Rathcoole. It was repatriated in 2008 and entered the fleet of the Blue Triangle associated London Bus Company, passing to Premium Tours of London in 2010. It is seen in the capital in July 2011 with one of the Premium coach fleet out of sight behind the following Plaxton President of Go-Ahead on the 44 behind.

Premium Tours are known for their smart touring fleet in the capital but is is nice that maintain this Routemaster for occasional use. On this occasion it is arriving at Duxford in 2012, representing 1967 in the Diamond Jubilee Parade from Royston for which the Union Jacks on the front were most appropriate.
