PPH of St Albans were successful in winning the coveted SHOWBUS Premier Operator Award in 2005.
The award is for the best pair of vehicles and several of the PPH contingent scored highly,
meaning that several pairs of their entries would have won them the prize. There were two
rare coaches amongst their entries, including this Volvo B58 with Unicar coachwork. Several
Unicar coaches entered service around 1980 but usually on lightweight Ford or Bedford chassis
and most are now long gone. |

The second rarity was this MCW Metroliner, new to East Kent as 8855 (E855UKR). Only around
30 such coaches were built as part of MCW's attempt to break into the coach market. They
were marginally more successful with the doubledeck Metroliner.

Together with the rarities were three of PPH's latest front line coaches, Irizar Century
bodied Scania K114s seen with two similar models from Mulleys and Excel, in white.
