The next doubledeck purchases moved away from Leyland to Dennis, but retaining the chosen East Lancs bodywork. This is Dominator 17 (OAP17W) seen in Pool Valley with a London Country C-Line Park Royal bodied Atlantean behind.

This colourful scene at Pool Valley captures all three common Brighton liveries of the time: Southdown's apple green and cream, Brighton, Hove & District's Tilling Red and cream with Brighton's French blue and white.

Probably a regretted purchase was a batch of seven Leyland Panthers which did not even last 10 years in the fleet. Bodywork was shared between Strachans and Marshall. 36 (NUF136G) is seen in Pool Meadow with a BH&D FLF behind. It was the first of the trio with the uncommon Strachan bodies, the Marshall variants were dual door. |
