As Thamesdown's Scania slips by on the Site Shuttle, one of the most interesting vehicles at SHOWBUS 2006 is revealed. Entered by Grayscroft Coaches was a 1959 Ford Thames Trader with Burlingham coachwork, a very rare combination. The coach is appropriately registered GCC3 and originally hails from North Wales. Grayscroft are undertaking a major restoration of the vehicle and it managed to make its way from their Lincolnshire base under its own steam, but to be on the safe side, was accompanied by the firm's recovery truck. Alongside is another comparitive rarity, the 1955 Harrington bodied Leyland Tiger Cub new to Silver Star.

No less than three Harrington bodied coaches lined up in front of the American Air Museum at Showbus 2008. Nearest the camera is the Silver Star Leyland Tiger Cub, MMR853, the coach won the Doyen Singledeck prize. Alongside are a pair of AEC Reliances, Valliant's red and grey on AMX8A matching the livery of the Silver Star, and beyond 477AOP in Flights' livery.

The previous year in April, 26 (MMR553) was being a bit of an interlopper at the Plaxton Centennial event at the Scarborough factory.

Finally showing what a gad about 26 is, she is seen here at the Royal Victoria bus rally in Netley Park, Southampton in 2008.
