The Gold Coast Shuttle was operated for many years by Surfside Buslines. The distinctive orange buses linked hotels, attractions and the airport along the Gold Coast strip. In 2017 Melbourne based Skybus acquired the service and transferred a number of their Optare Solo SR midibuses to the operation and in 2018 added a number of new MCV bodied MAN buses.
Two of the vehicles used on the Gold Coast Shuttle, which links the airport with the main hotel districts and attractions, are seen parked up in Ernest depot. On the left is 409 (819FNR), an ex Westbus Volvo B10M with Volgren twin deck body. Whilst the top deck seats 47, downstairs there is only a 7 seat rear lounge. Alongside is 816 (204AOL), a Mercedes-Benz OH1625 with Custom-Newnham 53 seat coachwork.
Also at Burleigh Heads is 423 (233CTA) an ex Coachtrans MCA integral.
Seen near Surfers Paradise in March 2016 is Bustech bodied Volvo B7R 401 (401FOC), like many of the fleet in an advert wrap.
