Howick & Eastern Buses Hino RG197K Coachwork International Ranger 2 20
It was Easter 2000 when this older vehicle in the fleet was seen, a 1989 Coachwork International Ranger 2 bodied Hino RG197K, 20 (OP4753). Behind are the gates to Auckland's dockyard customs pound. The chassis may well have arrived there and possibly departed when it was later sold for parts and exported to Fiji around 2012.

Howick & Eastern Hino BX341 Hawke 9
Even older was 1984 Hawke bodied Hino BX341 9 (LK7717), seen at the Auckland Britomart terminal.

In April 2003 CWI Ranger bodied Hino RG197K 15 (RW8035) is seen in the company of a pair of modern Designline bodied MAN low floor buses. It was one of a pair delivered ten years earlier.

Howick & Eastern Hino RG197K CWI Ranger 2 26, Hino BX341 Hawke 55 and Isuzu LT11-1P CWI 29
A interesting trio of buses seen at the H&E depot in April 2008. On the left we have 55 (ME9077), a 1985 Hawke bodied Hino BX341. Centre stage is taken by 26 (NY93), a 1988 CWI Ranger 2 bodied Hino RG197K and on the left is another CWI bodied bus 29 (NZ8017), a 1989 Isuzu LT11-1P. As can be seen all are relegated to school bus duties.
