 Visiting Rotorua in November 2017 the "city ride" tendered bus network was much in evidence. It was launched with a fleet of new Optare Solos imported from England, shortly followed by a trio of secondhand Solos from the UK. Here is one of first batch of six Solos new in 2008, 38 (R038).

 Two Solo SR buses joined the fleet in 2014, offering an extra row of seats. This is 49 (HPY832).

 Acquired secondhand from Helms on Merseyside in the UK was a pair of Optare Versas. This is 44 (GKE471), former Helms 102 (MX09ANR).
