Sovereign arose out of the North East division of London Country. Part of the small Blazefield Holdings group, it gained a portion of central London operations with the acquisition of BTS to compliment its expanded tendered operations in the Harrow area. The London operations passed to Transdev in 2002 and the remaining operations to Arriva in 2005, with Centrebus acquiring St Albans work which passed to Uno.
Sovereign Dennis Dart SLF
Attractively liveried Dennis Dart SLFs with Plaxton Pointer 2 bodies were a prominent feature of the Sovereign fleet. Dart 573 (W573XRO) was at SHOWBUS 2001 and shows blinds for St Albans route S2.

Dart 504 (KG52VAA) is seen on display at North Weald in 2004. The bus is route branded for the 600 service, the Hatfield Business Park Shuttle.

Sovereign Quest 80 Locomotors
Not pictured at Showbus, but a picture sent in by Andrew Miller, who entered this unusual bus at SHOWBUS 2008. It was one of six Quest 80 chassis built with Locomotors bodies for Merseyside PTE. In later years it gained Sovereign colours who sponsored its role with the Unity 70 project.
