First Routemasters
As part of the more colourful First line up, First London provided two Routemasters. The open topper is RM120, now registered SSL809 and alongside is "Dartmaster" RD39862, better known as RM1562 (562CLT) which can be found regularly working heritage route 9 in central London. Next in line is Eastern Counties "Fruitmaster" RML2633 painted in the colours of absorbed Yarmouth operator "Flying Banana", another Eastern Counties RML in mock Yarmouth blues presumably had a touch of the blues chose to park separately.
First
Todmorden liveried Volvo Olympian
As it says on the front "celebrating 100 years of buses in Todmorden", First 30737, originally Yorkshire Rider 5306, has been painted in the colours of the former Todmorden undertaking. Todmorden was absorbed into West Yorkshire PTE, along with Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford and Leeds and ultimately became First West Yorkshire. The old colours suite the Northern Counties bodied Volvo Olympian well and give a glimmer of what might have been and doubtless raises nostalgia with the Todmorden locals.
Mair's of Aberdeen Leyland Leopard
The Aberdeen & District Transport Preservation Group are doing an excellent job preserving the heritage of the First company whose beginnings rose on the initial acquisition of the Aberdeen municipal fleet. Easrly acquisitions were local coach operators including Mairs. This short Leopard with Alexander coach body was new to Grampian Regional Council's coach fleet in 1977 and was subsequently transferred to Mairs.

First Berkshire Mercedes Citaro
Quite a stir was created five years ago when the relatively rare Citaro was put in service by First on former Beeline services between Maidenhead, Slough and Heathrow. The operation was funded with airport operator BAA with a distinctive silver and purple livery. The services have proved hugely successful and have been copied in both livery and concept, and in the case of Carousel Buses from High Wyocmbe, with Citaros too. So only five years later, new buses and new branding for what is now the "7 series". First Berkshire ES64035 (LK07CNN) seen in front of a plane its normal passengers would no longer expect to be flying on, they would probably prefer their bus!
