 Eastern National 1817 (VNO840S) became Thamesway 1817 when the fleet was subdivided for privatisation. Now the original Eastern National fleet has effectively been amalgamated with the bulk of Eastern Counties. It is nice that 1817 has been preserved in the relatively short lived identity of Thamesway. |
 Some may have wondered what the preserved Silver Star Harrington bodied Leyland Tiger Cub was doing displayed with Thornes heritage collection. The bus, which won the prize for the Best Leyland at SHOWBUS has recently been on loan to Thornes. |
 Whilst the picture above was taken at lunchtime before the rain got properly started, this view is later in the afternoon as Dave Ward, one of the SHOWBUS team, is going round retrieving the hundreds of vital yellow blocks which mark out the site. Both the Tiger Cub and Maidstone & District Leyland-Beadle can be better seen in this picture. The Harrington bodied Leyland-Beadle won the prize for the best fifties vintage vehicle at the event. |
 A fantastic assortment of Olympians at SHOWBUS, here with a majority of Alexander bodywork, on a mix of Leyland and Volvo chassis. This pathes the way for a display of Olympians as a centre piece to SHOWBUS 2012. |
 Whilst teh number of MCW Metrobuses was not as great, a solid collection of former West Midlands examples backed up the Midland Red display including the three in the middle with links to Coventry. |
