Brighton Hove & District Bristol VRTSL6G ECW
Early Bristol VRTSL6G buses are seen in the snow awaiting delivery at Bristol Commercial Vehicle's Brislington works. Amongst the first productions VR models, 93-102 (OCD763-772G) languished at Bristol for some weeks before eventually entering service in March 1969. By this time BH&D was under Southdown and it was not long before they had 2000 added to their fleet numbers and later apple green and cream livery, giving way to NBC green and white. Seven of the buses (94-100) were originally intended for Bristol Omnibus.

This BH&D VRTSL6G was also at Brislington alongside another, all they are missing are their fleet numbers and registraions, so which buses they became is unknown. Joining them at the works was a batch of twenty for United Auto all of which were originally intended for Bristol Omnibus.

Southdown-BH&D Bristol VRTSL6G ECW 528
From a later batch, 527-541 delivered to Southdown, is 528 (WUF528K). These were dual door buses intended for Brighton services with "Southdown-BH&D" fleetnames. VR 528 is seen just outside Pool Valley. Ironically when ten years old 528 and nine of the batch were transferred to Bristol Omnibus

Southdown Daimler Fleetline Northern Counties 378 Bristol VRTSL6G ECW 528
Southdown's first new buses once free of NBC control were Northern Counties bodied Daimler Fleetlines back in traditional apple green and cream. Fleetline 378 (TCD378J) is seen overtaking VR 528 outside Pool Valley. The Fleetline later passed to Crosville and ended its days with being converted to a "Happy Dragon" open top for Crosville Wales.
