Hastings & District Leyland Leopard Duple Dominant 165
In the run up to privatisation, NBC recreated Hastings & District by carving a chunk out of Maidstone & District with a section of Southdown's East Sussex operations. The new independent company did not survive long before being swallowed by Stagecoach's operations along the South Coast. The new Hastings & District adopted a blue, yellow and white livery and is remembered here on this preserved Duple Dominant bodied Leyland Leopard in the NBC "venetian blind" coach livery application. The coach, 165 (MWV840) is seen arriving at Duxford for SHOWBUS international 2010. It was new in 1980 as Maidstone & District 4165 (JKM165V).
