Midland Red Coaches - National Holidays Leyland Tiger Duple Caribbean
Whilst many will remember Midland Red's four main dismembered sections (North, South, East and West) the fifth is often forgotten: Midland Red Coaches. The other component was the central works, which became Carlyle Works. Midland Red Coaches started off as Midland Red Expres, but was soon renamed and three years later, in 1984, it became part of Midland Red West. The impressive backdrop of Cardiff Central Station sets off this Duple Caribbean bodied Leyland Tiger in National Holidays livery in the days of Midland Red Coaches.

The Midland Red Coaches fleet later included this tiny Devon Conversions Mercedes L307D, dubbed the Midland Red Mini Cruiser - 570 (A670XUK).

Midland Red Coaches Bristol RELH6G ECW 4645 & Walsall Fleetline NCME 116
What the fleet did not include was this former Royal Blue ECW bodied Bristol RELH6G 2385 (OTA645G). The restored coach was originally repainted in Royal Blue cream and blue when it entered preservation in 1982, but it ended up with Coaching at Wheels in Nuneaton in 1992 who operated several buses and coaches in Midland Red red and black livery. It passed through the hands of several preservationists and semi-preservationists getting painted in this liery in 2004. It is seen at Gaydon in August 2015 bearing its Wheels number 4645. Alongside is former Walsall Corporation short NCME bodied Daimler Fleetline 116 (XDH516G).

Midland Red Coaches Leyland Royal Tiger 6150
Another Midland Red imposter is this gorgeous Leyland Royal Tiger bearing the number 6150 (E50TYG) as it graces the grounds of Woburn Abbey as it arrived for SHOWBUS international 2015. This was another coach to fall into the hands of Wheels in Nuneaton where it got painted red and black. It was new to West Riding as 50 (E50TYG) in Ridings Travel livery to which it has now been restored in the care of Dewsbury Bus Museum.
