 One of a batch of nine ECW bodied Leyland Olympians, DOG134 (A134SMA) was acquired from Crosville Wales by Midland Fox in March 1989 and initially used in Crosville livery as "Green Buses" to compete against Gilbert Kinch in the Loughborough area as seen here. After this they were all painted into Fox fleet livery and transferred to Wigston to replace DMS type double deckers. DOG134 became Fox 4518. |

 Midland Fox, with its Midland Red heritage, was not a Bristol operator, but a few buses found their way in to the fleet, including this ex Oxford example, 469 (CJO469R) in Oxford, but now 1109. Having sustained accident damage in 1992 it went on to Crosville Wales as DVG609, they would probably have preferred their Olympians back! The VR eventually went for scrap in late 1994. |
 Another Midland Fox VR, this time a preserved ex Southdown VRTSL3, 684 (EAP984V). Though in Fox colours, the bus was sold for preservation in 1998, being painted red and yellow with its sixth preservationist twenty years later. It is seen in action at the 2021 Buses Festival at the East of England Showground.

 Competition on the streets of Leicester has been rife since deregulation. The Mercedes Fox Cub, Reeve Burgess bodied Mercedes 709D, M302 (F302RUT), is overtaking a Country Hopper Freight Rover Sherpa, E688UND, on route to the quaintly named, Agar Nook. |
 Midland Fox meets Arriva Fox County at SHOWBUS international 2002. Arriva's 4720 (PN52XBH) is a brand new DAF DB250LF with East Lancs Myllennium style bodywork, clearly of lowheight design alongside the Alexander bodied Leyland Fleetline, 2534 (PWE634R). The Fox liveried red and yellow Fleetline was 1534 from a batch acquired from Mainline in Sheffield, following on from earlier DMS styled Fleetlines - and Metrobuses from the same source - adding to the variety of the Fox doubledeck fleet. |
