One of two preserved AEC Regals from the City of Oxford fleet. The fleet has been predominantly doubledeck, so for two Regals to have survived is remarkable - even more so when one of them is a coach. City of Oxford only ever had a small coach fleet for private hire, until under National Bus ownership when it took control of South Midland coaches from Thames Valley. This operation was the nucleus of the later London express operation. Regal 727 (OJO727) is seen on the 1976 Road Run to the Hillingdon Show Showbus 76.

 Oxford 727's preserved coach partner is 703 (NJO703). The vehicle is believed to have passed from Oxford to Molins, an engineering company in Bucks, for staff transport, where it survived for many years. It is seen here at Langley, once in Bucks, on the Showbus Road Run of 1978. |
