Oxford espress and airline coach rears: 31,94 & 96
Espress Volvo B12B Jonckheere 31 (OC02OXF), flaunting its WiFi credentials on layover in Gloucester Green in May 2008. Wittier adverts to tempt passengers adorn the rear of the Plaxton "airline" fleet, doubtless attempting to tempt the following motorists on the motorways the next time they are planning to fly. On 94 (DB07OXF) the minarets of Istanbul's skyline are captioned "Turkish Delight", whilst on 96 (FF08OXF) Ayers Rock and the kangaroo road sign have the appropriate caption "long haul - short hop". For many the journey will begin with Oxford's airline service.

All too often the M40 is subject to accidents closing sections of the motorway and diverting traffic on to other roads. This Jonckheere espress is at Wycombe Marsh due to problems between Beaconsfield and Handy Cross one murky day in Autumn 2009. The Oxford drivers are well versed in alternative routes and have the latest communications systems to keep them informed of problems, but coaches can sometimes been seen switched to the M4 or picking their way through Oxfordshire villages!

Bereft of its usual insignia, 32 (OD02OXF) was one of the many buses and coaches anonymised for the huge transport operation linked to the London Olympics in August 2012. It is seen on the A12 near Stratford.
