Between WMPTE and the Travel Midlands identities the West Midlands Travel identity existed in the transition from cream and blue to blue and silver. This coincided with the flirtation with the early deregulation "bread van" bus days. For the West Midlands the identity was known at Mini Buzz as seen on this Ford Transit, now preserved in BaMMoT's Wythall Museum. The Fords also brought a link back to the old BMMO days as the body was built by Carlyle Works, the company that was formed to takeover BMMO's former facility and home to the D9 and its ilk. The phot was taken in June 2013.

An earlier example of in house fabrication, but this time in WMPTE's workshops, was the conversion of standard doubldeck Leyland Fleetline 6956 (WDA956T) to singledeck in 1994. The project was part of a plan to convert further deckers, but the bus remained unique and enjoyed only a short subsequent life with WMT. The bus is now preserved at BaMMoT's Wythall Museum where it is seen in June 2013.
