London Buses received a batch of 25 Optare Spectras in 1992/3. Oddly for London, all were singledoor bar one: SP2 (K302FYG). The fleet passed to London Central and when displaced from route 3 by contract loss to Connex, Go-Ahead moved them all to their Northern operations. SP2 had escaped London long before then and ended up with MK Metro by way of a Gloucestershire operator, thought to be Cottrells. It is seen under threatening clouds at SHOWBUS in 2003.

The bus is seen much earlier, in the Winterhill depot yard early in 2001. As is self evident, it became MK Metro 202.

Seen at Winterhill in June 2001 is former Tillingbourne
Volvo Citybus / East Lancs. It needed no livery change to blend into the MK Metro fleet but was rapidly moved on to the
Burtons of Haverhill sister fleet. The bus was new as London Country 683 (H683GPF).
