Carousel Mercedes O500LE MCV 873
The last new buses delivered to an independent Carousel were a trio of MCV bodied Mercedes OC500LE, effectively a Citaro chassis available for bodying by independent body builders, and, as such, very popular in Australia. Delivered as MBA26 the bus was soon numbered in the
Oxford scheme as 873 (AE61EWO). It is seen at Heathrow Airport in April 2012 on the A30 to Chesham. The new Mercedes heralded an expanded network with buses interworking between the A40, 740 and new A30 providing a new Heathrow service to Chesham and the Chalfonts and an enhanced service from Gerrards Cross through Uxbridge to Heathrow. Sadly the new venture was not a success and in 2015 the A30 became the 730 with through tickets to Heathrow by changing at Uxbridge.
