Thames Valley never bought Leopards, being an RE fan - as the ECW Bristol RELH behind this Leopard bears testimony. This Duple (Northern) example was one of the many vehicles that passed through the fleet in response to vehicle shortages. This former Samuelsons example is seen in Reading depot, having lost the dark blue, silver and white colours of the small London coaching unit, affectionately known as "Sammys", in favour of NATIONAL white. |

The result of many of Alder Valley's vehicle shortages in NBC days resulted in the acquisition of some of Southdown's Leyland Leopards with Duple Commander IV bodywork touring coaches. The body style was familiar to the fleet having been featured on Bristol RELH and LH coaches in South Midland colours. 39 & 37 (RUF803/1H) are alongside a native Alder Valley (formerly Thames Valley) Plaxton Elite bodied Bristol RELH at Reading's Thorn Walk depot: 63 (CJB589J). |

Western National 2433 (LDV173P) was another vehicle drafted in to help the ailing Alder Valley. This Plaxton Supreme bodied Leopard has had its Royal Blue fleetnames covered by Alder Valley Londonlink markings. |
