Pictured when new in the 1960s, 393TUO pauses for a refreshment break on the London - Plymouth
service in the days before motorways. The vehicle is a Bristol RELH6G with ECW coach work.

Similar, but newer vehicle RDV418H is now preserved and is seen here at the West of England 1998
rally. Somehow the vehicle's black window rubbers don't quite enhamnce the vehicle in the way that
the original cream fittings did.

From the same batch of RELHs and at the same event, RDV423H displays the semi-corporate livery adopted by the Western
fleets in the early days of NBC and before the corporate National Express identity was developed.
The different companies adopted a white base livery with a couloured band and 'Macrogamma Bold'
fleetnames. Royal Blue, not surprisingly had a dark blue band, Black & White got black, Red & White
got red, Grey Cars got grey, Bristol Greyhound had magenta, Greenslades a pale jade.

1436 displays Royal Blue livery on one of the smaller Bristol MW6G coaches. It is seen in the company
of Eastern National's award winning Lodekka 2849 and Northamptons CVG6/Roe 267 at EFE Showbus 1998.

At EFE Showbus 1999 Eastern National 351 is parked alongside 3 former
Royal Blue vehicles: MWs 1436 and 2278 and RELH 1468 currently preserved in Southern National
NBC dual purpose colours.
